I love the taste of coffee.  I just don’t seem to function the same without my cups of coffee everyday.  Before I retired we kept a pot of coffee going most of the day.  My boss and I loved to experiment with different flavors.  We both still do, but just don’t get to share it like we did.

Even in the hot of summer like we have now in Missouri I still must have my coffee to enjoy and make my day.

When I was a little girl around 9 years old, I used to go duck hunting with my Dad.  We endured the frigid Napa Valley winters pretty much every weekend.  It was so cold that icicles would hang off the lips of our dog, Whiskey.

My Dad loved his coffee ever since his Navy days, always served black, and called “black mud” by my Grandfather.  We started talking about how our dog got the name “Whiskey.”  Dad thought about it for a moment, and explained to me that the only way good coffee could be consumed in the cold, was to add a shot (or two) of Whiskey.  I had my first sip and he was right, that coffee really warmed the throat and tummy, much better than my hot cocoa.

Things have really changed in the last 35 years.  “Adding flavor to your coffee” had a whole different meaning in the “old days.”
